Why a Retreat in Andalusia Doesn’t Have to Be the Least Bit “Floaty”

Isn’t a retreat mostly… floaty?

No. It can be surprisingly practical, down to earth – and genuinely valuable.

I’ll be honest: I used to think retreats were a bit fluffy. Still, I chose to look for one because I felt I was living too much in my head and wanted to reconnect with my feelings. But one thing was non-negotiable: it had to be practical. No incense clouds, no complicated poses I’d feel awkward in.

And it worked. During the breathwork sessions I’ve now done three times, I realised how grounded and powerful such an experience can be. Each one different. Each one meaningful.

So what makes a retreat not floaty?

A retreat doesn’t have to be a week of incense, rituals or “spiritual obligations”. The difference lies in the approach:

- Practical exercises that anyone can do.
- Small groups so you never feel lost in the crowd.
- A balance of movement, stillness, nature and rest.

It’s not about performance – it’s about experience.

What to expect in Andalusia

During the Release & Restore Retreat you’ll have all the space you need to let go and unwind:
- Daily yoga and meditation, suitable for every level.
- Breathwork sessions and sound concerts that are surprisingly grounded.
- Creative moments to let your inner flow do its thing.
- Healthy vegetarian and mostly vegan meals.
- Luxury accommodation with a pool, patio and quiet corners to simply be.

And the best part? You don’t have to organise a thing. We create the space, Wendy guides the programme – you just arrive and land.

Why this works (especially for down-to-earth people)

If you don’t see yourself as a “retreat person”, this is often exactly why it works.
- Because you learn to feel without overthinking.
- Because you discover how much stillness and breath can do for you.
- Because relaxation can be entirely practical: better sleep, releasing tension, feeling energised again.

And you’re not alone. Most participants arrive curious and slightly sceptical – and leave with clarity, rest and fresh energy.

Who is this retreat for?

- Anyone who spends a lot of time in their head and wants to reconnect with their feelings.
- People who want to unwind without mysticism or theatrics.
- Those who love stillness and nature but also appreciate good food and comfort.
- Anyone who wants a week without responsibilities – and to be looked after for a change.

Frequently Asked Questions

Not at all. Everything is accessible and tailored to what you can do and what you need.

Is this retreat suitable if I’m not “spiritual”?
Absolutely – in fact, especially then. The programme is practical and grounded, with space for feeling without fuss.

What’s included in the price?
7 nights in a shared twin room (single room available at extra cost), all meals, the full programme, airport transfers, healthy snacks and drinks. Flights and optional massages/extra activities are not included.

How big is the group?
We keep it intentionally small: a maximum of 10 participants. It ensures personal attention and a warm, intimate atmosphere.
